Developing the Arts Created in Us

The Fine Arts program at Skycrest Christian School enables students to discover and develop their God-given talents.

The motto for our Fine Arts Department is Soli Deo gloriaGlory to God alone. At Skycrest, the Fine Arts Department has its mission to prepare students to use their gifts and talents for God’s glory. Because each student is uniquely gifted by God in areas of creativity, we desire to challenge and equip them to be their best for Him.

Instrumental Band

Skycrest offers beginning band in 5th grade, intermediate band in 6th grade, and advanced band in 7th grade and continues through 8th grade.

Creative Music

Offered as an 8th grade elective, students explore the many forms of music. From trash cans to handbells, students showcase what they have learned in musical performances throughout the year.

Visual Arts

Students at Skycrest will learn and apply the seven elements of art. They will develop an appreciation of artists in art history and enjoy the creative process that comes with making art. Students will also improve hand-eye coordination and small motor skills.
